Logansport Area Career Fair to connect employers with potential new hires

Ivy Tech, Trine University sponsoring event Tuesday, April 12

LOGANSPORT, Ind.—The Ivy Tech Community College Logansport Campus, 1 Ivy Tech Way, will be the site of the 2016 Logansport Area Career Fair from 2 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, April 12. The event is sponsored by Ivy Tech and Trine University.

The career fair is a great way for employers to connect with well-qualified Ivy Tech and Trine alumni and students as well as prospective employees from the general public. It is open to the public without charge.

“More than 30 employers have registered for the event and more are expected,” said Suzanne Dillman, associate vice chancellor of Student Affairs at Ivy Tech’s Logansport Campus. “We are very pleased to be able to help students and alumni from both schools connect with employers from throughout north central Indiana. That includes businesses in Cass, Fulton, Howard, Miami, and Wabash counties.”

Dillman noted public transportation is available in Logansport through Cass Area Transit, with a scheduled 2:43 p.m. drop off at the campus. The return pickup time to leave the campus is 5:45 p.m.

Career fairs also offer a great opportunity for career exploration. “Even if you’re not looking for a job right now, a career fair is a great place to find out what kind of jobs are out there and what kind of credentials you’d need to qualify,” said Marcia Worland, director of Marketing, Communication and Admissions for Ivy Tech. “Admissions officers from both Ivy Tech and Trine will be on hand to talk about options for coming back to college to get the certificates or degrees that will open doors to new careers.”
