Food and fun on tap at Ivy Tech’s Peru culinary arts lab
PERU, Ind. – From updating your party repertoire to perusing the delicacies of the Orient, the spring schedule of non-credit culinary classes at Ivy Tech Community College’s Peru culinary arts lab is designed to offer edible education.
Four sessions are on tap at the College’s Peru Instructional Site, 425 W. Main St., and include:

Wednesday, April 6: Exotic Offerings of the Far East
Saturday, April 30: A Very Special Mother’s Day Brunch
Saturday, May 14: The Ninja Soldis Ride Again

Amy Black’s Take on Appetizers, featuring chef Amy Black
Do you seem to make the same set of appetizers over and over again? Now, just in time for spring parties and receptions, Amy Black returns to the Ivy Tech culinary series to lead us to a new repertoire of appetizers. There will be fresh flavors, new techniques and delightful recipes to take home…. all with Amy’s special touch. A day with Amy is always a great learning experience.

Exotic Offerings of the Far East, featuring Huey-Ching Ewbank, owner of Kokomo Asia Mart
Have you ever wandered down the aisle of an Asian market and felt completely lost as you looked at all the exotic spices and sauces? Huey-Ching Ewbank to the rescue! She is the owner-manager of Kokomo Asia Mart, and she will spend the evening teaching us about many of the items in her shop. We will explore many Asian cuisines. Best of all, Huey-Ching will give us hands-on instruction on how to make delicious pork dumplings, a great skill to take home at the end of the evening.

A Very Special Mother’s Day Brunch, featuring Noah Peconga
A very special mother deserves a very special menu for her special day. Noah returns to the Ivy Tech kitchen to give you recipes and tips on creating that memorable meal for your mom. We will have a complete experience … from that welcome drink to an elegant dessert. Spring will be in the air and fun will be had by all.

The Ninja Soldis Ride Again, featuring Tish and David Soldi
David, chef of Smitty McMusselman’s Irish Pub, and Tish want to re-introduce you to your Ninja or your food processor. They have a boatload of ideas to perk up your spring and summer meals. There will be smoothies, soups, salad dressings, salsas and more. Turn that machine into your personal kitchen servant! Tish and David always give us a hands-on experience, with lots of new ideas and fun.
