Ivy Tech to offer introductory sign language classes at Tipton site

Non-credit course covers basics for those with little experience in subject

TIPTON, Ind. — Ivy Tech Community College is offering an eight-hour Basic Introduction to American Sign Language class for those with little or no experience who want to learn its basics.

The class, taught by Kerri Downey, is being offered twice in two different sessions at Ivy Tech’s Tipton Outreach Site, 221 N. Main St. The first session will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 6, 13, 20, and 27; the second session will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 1, 8, 15, and 22.
