Ivy Tech sets workshop on Communication Skills for Supervisors

KOKOMO, Ind. – Ivy Tech Corporate College is offering an eight-hour workshop titled “Communication Skills for Supervisors” from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 7 in the Pulaski County Development building, 623 W. Eleventh St., in Winamac.

The instructor-led, highly interactive course will focus on the skills and tools needed to help front-line and middle-level managers and supervisors understand themselves and become more productive in the workplace by coaching, mentoring and motivating employees.

In this course, participants will become aware of the impact of verbal and non-verbal communication in order to capitalize on strengths and improve upon weaknesses. Participants will examine the communication process and potential for breakdown. They also will learn about the various states of listening and how to handle them and will recognize the obstacles to good communication so they can avoid them.

The cost of the program, $200 per participant, covers reference materials and handouts. For more information or to register, contact Mike Federspill, Ivy Tech Corporate College, at 800-459-0561, ext. 233, or mfederspill@ivytech.edu .
