Ivy Tech sets financial aid workshops in Kokomo, Logansport, Peru and Wabash

KOKOMO, Ind. – Ivy Tech Community College Kokomo Region is scheduling a series of workshops to help students and their families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, better known as the FAFSA, for the 2014-15 academic year.

Ivy Tech financial aid advisers will be available at workshops scheduled at the region’s sites in Kokomo, Logansport, Peru and Wabash between Feb. 25 and March 12.  All students seeking federal and state grants, loans and scholarships, as well as other financial awards, must complete the form, which must be received by the federal processor by March 10 for Indiana residents to be eligible for state aid.

“College Goal Sunday will offer this free service Feb. 23 at 39 sites around the state, including Ivy Tech’s Logansport campus and Indiana University Kokomo,” said Anjanetta Martin, regional director of financial aid for Ivy Tech’s Kokomo Region. “These Ivy Tech workshops will offer 14 additional opportunities for college-bound students and their families to receive free assistance in completing the paperwork required for financial assistance.”

Information required to file the FAFSA includes dates of birth and Social Security numbers for applicant and parents, household income and tax filing status (i.e., head of household, single, married).  Parents can attend one of the workshops and file on behalf of their student. Families who have not yet filed their 2013 tax returns should file an initial FAFSA by March 10; they will have until May 1 to make revisions.

The workshops are open to all students preparing to attend any college or university. For more information on the Ivy Tech Kokomo Region workshops, please contact the site representatives listed below.
