KOKOMO, Ind.—Ready to take the next step in your educational journey? Ivy Tech Community College is making it easier than ever with two new Express Enrollment events at its Kokomo and Logansport campuses on Feb. 20 and 26 respectively. Express Enrollment will serve those who would still like to enroll in the second spring term that begins the week of March 17 and those who want to register for summer classes.
Express Enrollment is designed to help prospective students with busy schedules get through the enrollment process – everything from admission application through registration for classes – in one visit to campus. There is no cost to attend.
Students may participate in Express Enrollment at either site regardless of where they plan to attend classes.
Kokomo Campus – Thursday, Feb. 20
Make your reservation by calling 800-459-0561, ext. 239
Staff will be available from 1-8 p.m.
Logansport Campus – Wednesday, Feb. 26
Make your reservation by calling 574-753-5101, ext. 2175
Staff will be available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“With Express Enrollment, you can expect to complete all the required steps in one day instead of having to make as many as four trips to campus,” said Marcia Worland, interim admissions director for Ivy Tech Kokomo Region. “We’ll have Ivy Tech advisors on hand to help you through the process – from completing the admission application and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) if you haven’t already done so, to completing new student orientation, to taking the academic placement assessment and selecting the right classes for spring semester. And parents are encouraged to attend with their college-bound student.”
The academic placement assessment is designed to evaluate an applicant’s reading, writing and math skills so he or she can be placed in appropriate classes. The assessment requirement may be met by providing the admissions representative with a copy of a transcript showing previous college credit; documentation of SAT scores of 460+, ACT scores of 17+ or PSAT scores of 46+ in each section of the test; or a high school transcript showing graduation with a Core 40, Technical Honors or Academic Honors diploma or equivalent and a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. All others will be able to take the Accuplacer skills assessment during an Express Enrollment event. More information on the assessment process can be found at www.ivytech.edu/assessment.
