Ivy Tech Peru to hold second annual scholarship fundraiser

PERU, Ind. — Ivy Tech Community College Kokomo Region’s Peru Instructional Site will host its annual scholarship fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 5:30 p.m. inside the Psi Iota Xi Auditorium. The “Another Opening, Another Show: A Night at the Comedy Club” event will include dinner, a silent auction and feature comedians Ray Price, Richard Thompson and Vinny Landfert. The silent auction features front-row Colts’ tickets, a plane ride, a classic car ride, several gift basket items and more.

Proceeds from the event benefit a scholarship fund for any Miami County resident who attends an Ivy Tech Kokomo Region campus. Last year, the scholarship fundraiser raised nearly $8,000. This year’s goal is $10,000.

“One of the criteria for this scholarship is that the applicant be involved in community service. I think it’s exciting that recipients will be giving back in some way to the communities that helped fund the scholarship,” said Peru Instructional Site Executive Director Theresa Murphy.

Dinner will be catered by Christy Arwood of the Peru Civic Center. Tickets are $30 and include dinner, performances and a chance to bid on a number of silent auctions items. A cash bar will also be available. Tickets are still available, but seating is limited. Tickets can be purchased at the Kokomo, Logansport and Wabash campuses and also at Ivy Tech’s Peru Instructional Site located at 425 W. Main St. For more information, call 765-473-7281, ext. 301 or 314.
