Ivy Tech to offer several orientation sessions in May for new students

The last day to enroll for the summer semester is May 31.

KOKOMO, Ind. — Ivy Tech Community College will be offering several New Student Orientation sessions during the month of May for new, first-time, degree-seeking students who have filled out an application and plan to start college during the upcoming summer or fall semesters. The sessions are just one of many new initiatives that were instituted during the past year as part of the college’s status as an Achieving the Dream college — a nationwide effort to improve retention and completion rates in community colleges across the country.

Below are the dates, times and locations of the New Student Orientation sessions that are scheduled for May:

Kokomo
May 4         3 p.m.
May 6         2:30 p.m.
May 9         6 p.m.
May 11       3 p.m.
May 13       2:30 p.m.
May 18       3 p.m.
May 19       6 p.m.
May 20       2:30 p.m.

Logansport
May 3         5 p.m.
May 5         3 p.m.
May 11       8:30 a.m.
May 19       12:30 p.m.
May 24       9 a.m.

 Peru
May 6         1 p.m.
May 10       10 a.m.
May 20       1 p.m.
May 26       6 p.m.
May 31       10 a.m.

To register for an orientation session at the Peru Instructional Site, call Dani McQuaide at (765) 473-7281, ext. 311. 

Wabash
May 10       6 p.m.
May 14       10 a.m.
May 26       3 p.m.

To register for an orientation session at the Wabash campus, call (260) 563-8828. 

The New Student Orientation sessions are mandatory for all new, first-time degree-seeking students. Pre-registration for the New Student Orientation sessions is required. The information presented in the orientation sessions is standard throughout the region, so students may go to a session at a campus other than the one they plan to attend.

The last day to enroll for the summer semester is May 31 so prospective students are urged to contact Ivy Tech’s Office of Admissions as soon as possible to learn the steps necessary to enroll, including applying for admissions, attending a new student orientation, taking a placement test, and meeting with a new student advisor.
