Ivy Tech hosting the Gala for Student Success on April 29

All proceeds from the annual student benefit will support students at the college’s Kokomo Campus.

KOKOMO, Ind. — Ivy Tech Community College will hold its Gala for Student Success on Friday, April 29, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Kokomo Event Center, 1500 N. Reed Road. The event — which supports scholarships and other initiatives that benefit students at the college’s Kokomo Campus — replaces Ribs, White and Blues as Ivy Tech’s annual fundraiser.

The event has become a Kokomo tradition over the years and is the principal source of scholarship funds for students at Ivy Tech Kokomo. Last year’s fundraiser brought in approximately $16,000 for student scholarships — and every penny counted as the need for scholarships and other student-focused initiatives is great.

The event will feature dinner as well as live and silent auctions. The auction will feature many fantastic items including a luxury suite at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club at the Flamingo Resort in Las Vegas; a condo at Indian Peaks Resort in Colorado; a stay at Great Wolf Lodge in Mason, Ohio; a Ghost Busters ghost hunt; a Fender guitar; Chili Head basket; a framed original painting by John Mellencamp; tickets to the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra; and many more.

Tickets are $30 and are available at Ivy Tech’s main Kokomo campus, 1815 E. Morgan St. Limited seating is available. For reservations or more information about the annual scholarship fundraiser, the Gala for Student Success, benefiting student scholarships at the Kokomo campus, call (800) 459-0561, ext. 401. Reservations also may be made online by visiting www.ivytech.edu/giving and following the Make a Gift link. Please be sure to specify that your gift is for the Gala for Student Success at the Kokomo Campus.

The Gala for Student Success is sponsored in part by Haynes International, Indiana American Water, Duke Energy, WWKI, Z92.5, the Kokomo Perspective, and the Kokomo Tribune.
